Thomas Place was born born in 1663 at Kingstown, Washington County, RI.
He married Hannah Cole, daughter of John Cole and Susanna Hutchinson, in Mar 1687.
The births of 6 children are recorded in North Kingstown v1:13 as: (burn)ry, 5 January 169(burn); (burn)rbury, 5 May 169(burn); (burn)?as, 2 November 169(burn); (burn)?, 24 April 170(burn); (burn)ah, 10 May 170(burn); and (burn)??, 22 December 170?(burn). On page 131 of North Kingsto family with the following children is listed: Mary b. (burn); Marbary b. (burn); Thomas b. (burn)///in different handwriting > John b. (burn); Sarah b. (burn); Joseph b. May (burn); Samuel b September (burn). Page 130 has births in the 1702-1730 timeframe. Page 132 has births in the 1719-1739 timeframe. Wayne James believes the page 131 listing refers to Thomas (3)'s children, not Thomas (2) as Austin and others have written.
He bought 275 acres of vacant land in Narragansett, along with 3 other men on 28 May 1709 at Kingstown, Washington County, RI (Austin, GDRI, page 154.).
He bought about 246 acres in Boston Neck, with Henry Northup, from four daughters of Richard Wharton, of Boston on 12 Mar 1710/11 at Kingstown, Washington County, RI (NK LE Vol 1 p 40.).
He and Hannah Cole sold all or part of the Wharton land, along with Henry Northup and his wife Mary, to Nathaniel Niles on 23 Nov 1711 at Kingstown, Washington County, RI (Ibid., Vol 1 p 42.).
He died in Nov 1727 at North Kingstown, Washington County, RI. He left a will in 1727 at North Kingstown, Washington County, RI (North Kingstown, Rhode Island, Probate Records, Volume 6, page 256 from RIGR 7:56.); this is the date the will was proved; mentions wife Hannah, sons Thomas, Enoch, Samuel, daughters Marbery Stafford and Ann Place; witnessed by Elisha Cole, Francis Willett and (burn) Northup.
