John James Kyle of 4095: Broadway Street, Lachine, Que., died Saturday after a lengthy illness while a patient in the Lachine General Hospital.
Born in Bath, N.B., in March, 1897, son of the late D. W. and Lottie L. Kyle, he attended school in Woodstock, N.B., and moved with his family to Moncton in 1912, completing his education at Mount Allison Academy, Sackville.
He was a veteran of World War I, having enlisted with the First 1st Battery from Moncton in August 1914.
Following his return to Canada in 1919 he entered the employ of Canadian National Railways in Moncton and in 1923 transferred to Montreal, in system car accounting department. He remained with the car accounting department until retirement as chief clerk in 1962.
Mr. Kyle is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Kaye; a daughter, Mrs. R. S. Hawkins (Eileen) of Bright's Grove, Ontario, a son, J. William Kyle of Montreal, and grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Trecia M. Kyle of Toronto, and a brother, Don W. Kyle of Riverview, N.B.
