    Text Richard C. Somerville, 71, of Duxbury, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at home after a sudden illness. The son of the late Murray G. and Mildred Steeves Somerville, he was born in Boston on March 20, 1934. He was raised and educated in Brighton and has lived in Duxbury for 25 years. After graduating high school, Mr. Somerville joined the Navy. He served during the Korean War and later served in the Naval Air Reserves. Mr. Somerville was the retired President of Globe Rubber Works Inc., in Rockland. He retired in January 2005 after 50 years. He started as a salesman with the company and purchased the company 25 years ago. There was a well known slogan at Global Rubber Works that Richard was ?A Pioneer in Formulating the Non-Metallic Age. He is survived by his wife, Anne P. Roche Somerville, 1 son Gregg C. Somerville of Plymouth, 1 daughter, Wendy A. Gibson, 1 brother, Murray L. Somerville of Waltham and 2 grandchildren, Andrew R. Somerville and Samantha G. Somerville. Memorial Service on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 5 PM in the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 842 Tremont Street in Duxbury. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701
