Text MAGEE, Marion Charlotte 1922 - 2007 With sadness, we announce the
death of Marion Magee on October 8, 2007. She is survived by Don,
her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, and her adoring children and
their spouses: Jane (Jim Baxter), Fran (Bob Boyden) and Neill (Lori)
will dearly miss Marion. She was devoted to, and warmly loved by her
grandchildren: Erin (Mahyar Khosravi), Anna (David Gale), Patti (Brad
McMillan), Kate (Cory Layton) and Ryan. Her many nieces and
nephews share in our loss. Marion and her twin brother Don were born
to Leishman and Mildred McNeill on April 18, 1922, in the Scottish
Nursing Home in Calgary. The twins, with their older brother Jack,
grew up on Sixth Avenue West. What is now downtown Calgary was
their playground. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1946
with a B.Sc. in Home Economics and worked as a registered dietician
until her marriage to Don in 1950. Marion's passion for life and her
commitment to her family, friends and community brought everyone
around her comfort and joy. She enjoyed the companionship of many
close friends, music, bridge and travel. Marion was an outstanding
cook; her kingdom was her kitchen and nothing else pleased her more
than a crowd around the dining room table. She and Don have enjoyed
the fellowship of the Rotary Club of Calgary South for the past forty-
seven years. In many ways, Marion's life was defined by the
philosophy of Rotary, "Service above self". A Memorial Service will be
held at Knox United Church (506 - 4 Street S.W.) on Monday, October
    15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through
www.mcinnisandholloway.com . Flowers are gratefully declined,
however memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian
National Institute for the Blind, 15 Colonel Baker Place N.E., Calgary,
AB T2E 4Z3 (Telephone 403-261-7219). In living memory of Marion
Magee, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by
McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial
    Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: 403-243-8200.
